Many seemingly irrefutable realities are just unchallenged illusions, and one prime example of this is the existence of darkness. Actually darkness does not exist anywhere, neither it’s a real thing. It’s the well thought out choice of the brain made during evolution to shut down cognition on the left and right of the spectral band visible to the humans. And it was done as per requirement. Humans could see things during night if had made use of Infrared and far-infrared part of spectrum, practically feeling no darkness. However, if this had happened then only tiny brained humans could have survived: in practical terms there would have been no emergence of humanity and human civilization. What a paradox that self created darkness paved the way of self produced enlightenment of human race. In other words it can also be construed that both: darkness and enlightenment are paired phenomenon in context of human cognition. One can create distance between this couple but can not detach these permanently. Actually human brain is such an intense processor of information that if visible band of light expands the brains of many would either shut down or would explode. Darkness is the creation of human perception and cognition, and it lies inside us and not in the surrounding. (Dr. Shakir Ahmad, Ph.D, Postdoct, HsD)
